TV Star Sues After NY Car Accident

A 12-year veteran of Saturday Night Live, Darrell Hammond has filed a lawsuit against Jose J. Mendez seeking an unspecified amount of money in damages. Hammond's car accident lawyer indicates that as a result of the June car accident in New York, he is unable to perform, has canceled two performances of a one-man play he was scheduled to give on Broadway, can't fly in a plane due to pain, and has trouble standing for any length of time.

Darrell Hammond's injuries reportedly included fractured ribs and a severely injured back.

Also involved in the lawsuit is the driver of the car Hammond was in, Dona Monteleone, who is a friend of Hammond. Hammond's lawyer said that including the friend in the lawsuit is just an insurance formality.
