Drink and Driving in New York Don’t Mix

Despite the well-known and documented dangers associated with drinking and driving, people continue to risk their lives and those of innocent others by choosing to drive while intoxicated.

Recent Drunk Driving Charges in New York

During recent New York traffic stops in Putnam, Westchester and Rockland counties, state troopers charged 12 drivers with driving while intoxicated. Of the 12, two were drivers previously convicted of drunk driving, resulting in their charges becoming elevated to felonies.

Among people charged with DWI’s are three men traveling the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh: Eric Makris was driving while intoxicated on Saturday at 10am; Vincent Lasorsa was charged at 2am on Sunday, and , and Marc Fennell was charged at 1:30am on Saturday.

Two men were charged for driving while intoxicated on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Clarkstown: Latchman Ram at 2:30am on Sunday and Marcos Simon at 4am on Sunday. Latchman Ram had a blood alcohol level more than two times the legal threshold for driving intoxicated in New York.
